Would You Ever Visit The Cruise Ship On A Cliff Which Is A Hotel?

Perched high above the shores on the costal cliff in Jeongdongjin, a South Korean tourist town known for having the best view of the sunrise, is a cruise ship (which opened in 2002) that appears to have been mysteriously transported from the sea. That is Sun Cruise Resort & Yacht - the world’s first on-land cruise themed resort. The hotel measures 165 metres in length, 45 metres in height, and 30,000 tons in weight. The Sun Cruise Resort has 211 rooms, both condominium and hotel style, a Western and a Korean restaurant, revolving sky lounge, a night club, a karaoke, and sea water pool. It also offers six state-of-the-art function rooms for seminars and workshops. What do you think LiveTribers? Would you ever visit the cruise ship on a cliff which is a hotel?

Sounds fascinating. I have never been on a cruise ship but this intrigues me.

Sounds amazing! However I probably wouldn't want to be perched on a cliff

The best part of cruising is visiting all the new places so this seems a bit boring to me.

Sounds interesting. I wouldn't go on an actual cruise but wouldn't mind visiting a cruise ship that is a hotel.

How exciting. When i visited South Korea (before 2002) the resort was not there, but, i do remember the coastline and how beautiful it was. It may be the galvaniser for me to return there. It would be amazing.

Visually, this is a very different idea and reminds me of Noah's ark stranded on top of a mountain after the floods subsided. I'm not sure about the "cruise ship" idea because I love the feel of the ocean movement when travelling on cruise ships, and this idea is definitely not that. However, it is actually a hotel that looks like a cruise ship and the views of the ocean would be beautiful and stunning.

Proud to have an iconic unique architectural design in Asia! Gangneung is famous for national parks. The Sun Cruise Resort & Yacht is the most luxury iconic hospitality facilities in the region. S Korean's tourism websites and Expedia in Asia) describe the beach is mostly famous for watching sunrise on the New Year Day. Romantic enough for a holiday.

After checking the website of this resort hotel and basic information about the beach, DEFINITELY I love to go there one day! It is not a ship, it is a brilliant iconic hotel and resort designed in the shape of a giant vessal, comparing similar iconic is that famous Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai. Jeongdongjin beach is most famous for watching sunrise.

It looks nice but if your going to stay on a cruise ship it should be on the ocean

No. If I am going on a cruise ship I prefer it to be on the water and actually take me somewhere haha

I think it might be out of my present budget but it does sound like a wonderful place to visit. Perhaps one day in the future I'll get the opportunity and I'd love to stay there even just for one night!

Sounds like an interesting resort to visit. It would depend on the cost of travel and accommodation. Some resorts today are becoming too expensive post Covid and for now I would wait until the market settles down.

Sounds like a real "cliff hanger experience". What ho me hearties, with a parrot on me shoulder! Being on the high seas without the high seas, sounds like a real once in a lifetime experience, once my treasure chest is full may be able to afford the exciting adventure.
