What Remote Australian Beach Topped A World’s 50 Best Beaches List?

Three other Australian beaches also made the top 50 in a list voted on by travel editors, industry professionals and people who seem to be permanently on vacation. Lucky Bay, a five-kilometre stretch of white sand near Esperance, has beaten out Greek beaches, Mexican playas and Hawaiian coves in a “best of” list. Located on Western Australia’s south coast in the Cape Le Grand National Park, about eight hours’ drive from Perth, it’s said to be the beach with the country’s whitest sand. What do you think LiveTribers? What remote Australian beach topped a world’s 50 best beaches list?

The best beach is the one that's easily accessible, so my local one is the best for me

Australia has been blessed with so many beautiful beaches. We take them too much for granted. It's not actually about which beach is best, as it's really hard to choose. I've been two a few different ones in the distant past and they all had their good points. The best beaches are the ones with out crowds.

Rainbow beach is the one of my favourite and also the beach at Wellington point near Brisbane is the most beautiful place I ever seen in Queensland.

Hymes beach in New South Wales is such a surprise. It puts a smile on your face. Accessible, beautiful and whiter sand than the rest of the area. Whitehaven is a beach I always tell travellers to the Whitsundays to put on their bucket list. Pristine, long, and crystal clear water.

I feel Whitehaven Beach is number 1. I have been there 2 times and it is totally amazing. Limited access makes it very special.

Whitehaven Beach is very good because it is almost all silica so the sand does not get hot.

I guess it depends on the cirteria. Some would want accomm/restaurants nearby, but Australia has some great clean sandy beaches that are more remote. You are judging th beach afterall, not the whole destination.

The more a beach has less contact with the population,it has the best chance to remain in pristine condition.

Wollongong city beach,it is maintained + kept cleaned from rubbish & seaweed -society kept safe with life guard patrolling. Is known for being on bondi rescue beach show & shows off great waves to surf, swim & observe sea life & walk via little rock pools. Sand very well taken care of its combed & observed of debri, liter & any other thing that would give bad reviews

Lucky Bay in Esperance is the best beach in the world. Complete with friendly kangaroos. It has the whitest, crunchiest sand ever.

The East coat of Tassie has some of the best beaches in my humble opinion .The other thing about any beach in Tas is that they are never crowded ,even in summer ,and through the rest of the year you can often be the only people on the beach.

Whitehaven Beach in the Whitsundays has my vote. It's one you have to visit to fully appreciate the white-colored sand. Absolutely magnificent
