Why Is Protecting Australia’s Surf Beaches Good For The Economy?

Surfing was first introduced to Australia more than a century ago and has blossomed into a cultural phenomenon and a commercial juggernaut. Research from the Australian National University (ANU) estimates surfing injects at least A$3bn into the national economy each year. The study, however, comes with a stark warning that surf breaks in areas where the waves start to collapse, or plunge should not be taken for granted and need more legal protection. Unfortunately, because of climate change, coastal erosion and competition for coastal spaces, the elements that make these high-quality waves possible are on many occasions in danger. What are your thoughts LiveTribers? Why is protecting Australia’s surf beaches good for the economy?

Yesterday was the 3rd time unautorized reward redemption happened in my account, and I was unsubscribed. Previously, two times I requested support, and they reinstated my points. You introduced a new feature but no use; all issues are still there.

After introducing the secret question and answer feature in reward redemption, each time I try to redeem my points, I am unsubscribing from my account and redirecting to the login page. Reinstated my account and logged in, but no redemption happened.

So many tourists come to this country purely for the surfing we enjoy in this country. Although not all repairs may be possible to enact, the various governments should do as many as they can to ensure we can still maintain the tourist dollars. It's about the only way we will be able to earn income the way the country is going, especially with the woke push to stop all mining. Thats the only other sellable resource we have.

If 'legal protection' means locking them up for use by selected groups I'm against it. Improve the foreshores by building levees or protective rock walls and plant grasses to hold the dunes together but locking up areas to keep tree huggers happy without follow up action is a waste of time.

It costs a lot of money to repair coastlines. and brings in a lot of money from tourists.

For many weeks or months the reward redemption was disabled for counteracting the non-identified technical glitch, and now you claimed some new feature introduced and enabled reward redemption, but I can't redeem my points but am getting some warning messages with multiple issues/invalid criteria never before. What's going on with LiveTribe?

Received the dreaded email today saying that I had unsubscribed, straight after I had redeemed some points. Seems like this issue is getting worse. Fix it Livetribe or employ someone who knows how to fix it.
