Why Have Sydney Snake Catchers Been Inundated With Calls?

Snake catchers in Sydney have been inundated with requests for help as the warm weather creates an earlier than usual spike in activity. Snakes are usually most active in October and November. One snake catcher from Snakes in the City said he collected 16 snakes from suburban backyards, offices and factories recently as temperatures hit 30 degrees Celsius, but snakes in houses were less common. What do you think LiveTribers? Why have Sydney snake catchers been inundated with calls?

Because it's getting more and more urbanised to where the snakes have all access to roam free dwelling in your local backyards and homes with only catch and release methods

It's Spring and they are hungry and then they will look for a mate.

Over breeding and coming to close to the suburbs. When more land is being utilised for housing then the snakes have to go somewhere. Looking for water as well.

The current higher heat has brought the snakes out of hibernation and they are now looking for a mate. Add to that the fact that more housing is taking up their habitat and there is a conflict between homeowners and snakes all vying for the same turf. So the snake catchers are in hot demand to remove the snakes.

Perhaps the sudden spike in heat has confused the snakes and they are coming out of hibernation early.

These surveys are getting weirder and weirder. Why have Sydney snake catchers been inundated with calls? I'm guessing it's because there's a lot of snakes around. Why else would you call a snake catcher?
