Why Are Blue Whales Endangered?

The blue whale is not only one of the most well-known whale species, but it’s also the largest known whale in existence and may grow over 100ft and weigh more than 150 tons. In the past (pre whaling era), blue whales were extremely abundant (150,000-200,000 before whaling began) and found swimming in all the major oceans of the world. However, today, it is estimated that there are now only between 1,500-2,500 blue whales in existence. They were popular to hunt because of their supply of blubber where whalers would sell their blubber and body parts to suppliers who made various materials out of it. What are your thoughts LiveTribers? Why are blue whales endangered?

Mainly because humans pollute the whole planet and think they can do as they want. Bloody idiots.

Human activities are to blame for a continually worsening ocean environment for Blue Whales.

As usual man is taking everything. Krill required daily for 1 Blue Whale is 4 tons. That's a lot. It is also food for Penguins and other fish species. Krill is being harvested for human consumption now so less food for the oceans animals.

Not enough food in the oceans left for them to thrive and multiply on and pollution.
