What Should The Punishment For Streaking Be?

In case you missed it, Instagram model Kinsey Wolanski ran onto the pitch in a swimming costume 20 minutes into the Champions League match on Saturday. She apparently did it to promote her boyfriend’s X-rated website. She was promptly arrested and released a few hours later. In some states in the US you can be charged for public indecency and even be listed as a sex offender if you streak naked during a football game. In Australia, streakers are usually banned from entering the grounds for a period of time and slapped with a fine. LiveTribers, what do you think is a suitable punishment for streaking? Is it just a bit of fun and no need for punishment? Or should streakers face imprisonment, fines or something else?

As natural as the human body is, a lot of people don’t want to see it/their children to see it. I feel as though a small fine and the watch house sounds appropriate

Yes if it is illegal they should receive a fine. Just read that she is boasting as to the fact that she will retire by the time she is 30yrs of age. Not bad for doing something so stupid.

I think a fine will do.well from another point of view, it looks unlawful and not proper in a good manner. If you want to streak do it at a proper place ..for eg...your room .in the forest...places where only you and your boyfriend or who ever you choose to be a guest..

Don't interrupt the game, streaking or not. This sort of stuff needs to be punished to deter others from doing the same thing. Maybe a bit of supervised community service dressed in nice high vis overalls picking up rubbish outside the ground for 8 hours on the next dozen game days.

If one want's to play on the wrong side of the fence one can't just allway's hop back & froe when it well gets cold on one.side.just putting it.out there. If one is a rule breaker.one doesn't get to choose which.rule should be bent.A rule is.a rule.society functions on rules&punishments.when ILLEAGAL acts are defined as not to ILLEAGAL we stop respecting authority???

Probably jail is a bit harsh but definitely be banned for at least 3 years and definitely a large fine of say $2000 that should teach these idiots a lesson.

Pathetic, just charge them with a fine and ban them from entering the grounds for a suitable time is enough. If they do it again then bigger fine and longer time.

Not naked - not streaking. Simples, if punishment is needed the cancel her instagram account then at least we all benefit.

Generally I think the Australian option is fair- an appropriate fine unless the streaking has caused a major disruption. In general nobody is hurt.

Imprisonment is a bit harsh, she was wearing a bathing suit after all and it was just a bit of fun. It was an inappropriate act to interrupt the game but I'm sure the male spectators would have gotten a laugh out of it. Arresting her was going a bit too far. She should have been issued a fine and a warning and sent on her way.

It is a complete turn off to start with. Yes 5 minutes of fame can easily sign the deathnell on future job prospective for the individual. More often or not they are intoxicated and urged by others to act out. Yes a nice big fine for the streaker and any helpful mates. !!!!

She was clothed & that doesn't count as streaking nor can it be classed as nudity nor even public indecency. The Police State has advanced too far, too fast. If anything, you can censor the media from broadcasting that part of it during kids viewing hours. This sort of thing can reasonably be expected at sporting matches; just have a look at the history of it all.

Totally agree that the media is chasing sensationalism. I also agree that a legitament streak or any other on-ground interference has no other purpose than to disrupt the game and all parties involved in setting this up or assisting should wear the brunt to what is given back. Just take a look at the charges of being an accessory to the fact in murder cases where even knowing that it is being planned will get you in hot water.

Someone should have told her that we are now in the 21st century. Streaking is so early 1970's. Boring. Ignore them and they'll go away.
