What’s Healthier – Fresh, Frozen Or Canned Foods?

Fresh food, particularly when eaten in season is great, but frozen and canned foods are good alternatives – equally nutritious and really convenient, with long shelf lives if stored correctly. Also remember to keep an eye out for the salt and sugar content in canned items by checking the food label. Choose canned vegetables without added salt and canned fruits in natural juice rather than syrup. What are your thoughts LiveTribers? Are fresh, frozen or canned foods healthier?

I've remained a member of ACA of Choice Magazine fame since 1979. Over the years everytime Choice has performed tests on fresh v organiv v fresh snap frozen.....the taste and nutrient value of the frozens has most often been ahead of the former with buggerall difference in taste when prepared similarly. Sure Farmers Market foods organic or not can be fresh and if used immediately taste great . However the price per kg in such markets are very high and very poor value. In my view Organic Farmers Market foods are for wealthy wanna be snobs who want a talking point over overpriced lattes after a Country Drive ona Sunday!!

There's no noticeable difference between them - unless you count the wank factor the smashed Avo, Soy Latte, sippers seem to feel is fashionable.
