Is The Pilbara The Oldest Place On Earth?

Dating to around 3.6 billion years ago, the Pilbara region of Western Australia is home to the fossilised evidence of the Earth's oldest lifeforms. In recent years, science has confirmed what Aboriginal Australians, the world's oldest continuous living culture, always knew: the Pilbara region of Western Australia is among the oldest places on Earth. What do you think LiveTribers? Is the Pilbara The Oldest Place on Earth?

The whole world is old. How would our indigenous and Torres Strait Islanders know this is the oldest place on earth? They came from Africa via Asia to Australia around 60000 - 70000 years ago and are the oldest population living outside Africa today. The Pilbira was formed pre life forms so no fossils are in the rocks but fossils on top are evident and apparently this is the only place in the world this is seen. Beautiful area but can be unforgiving.
