The whole world is old. How would our indigenous and Torres Strait Islanders know this is the oldest place on earth? They came from Africa via Asia to Australia around 60000 - 70000 years ago and are the oldest population living outside Africa today. The Pilbira was formed pre life forms so no fossils are in the rocks but fossils on top are evident and apparently this is the only place in the world this is seen. Beautiful area but can be unforgiving.
