Does Australia Have Enough Higher Education Facilities and Therapists To Cater For Special Needs Individuals?

In early education, a mix of services is often required. In schools, physical access limits choice, as does provision of support services and a selection of schools prepared to provide full access to the curriculum. Moreover, rural, regional and isolated areas provide minimal option. There is also the aspect of transitional services and post-school options which have the utmost importance for life after school. What are your thoughts LiveTribers. Does Australia has enough Higher Education facilities and therapists to cater for special needs individuals?

Special needs kids and those with a disability do need specialized assistance to get as far ahead as possible to achieve any form of employment and integration in schools and workplaces. Specialists are required to give them that start - that others take for granted. Support sets them up to use what they have, develop, and appropriate work. Online training & work must be helping but some will need therapists. I've been in companies that had blind editors, or wheelchair accountants. They've made it and thrive as independent people. Don't believe enough get that far though.

Absolutely.....in my view there are far too many over educated shiney arses trying to influence life's basics. What happened to honest commonsense and taking personal responsibility. Despite the billions spent on our education sector our performance results in the OECD are very ordinary. So if it's enough money..... what's the problem!? Low Tertiary entrance standards, woke supposedly progressive University Curricula and poor choices by students.! Need I say more?

After working in an institution for the disabled, I think that the schools that we sent the school-age children to were understaffed to care for these children and relied on volunteers.
